The capital city of Scotland is Edinburgh, beautiful, inviting, historic and cultural. There are many Cathedrals, Museums, Chapels and different attractions like the Arthur’s Seat; it is a volcano seat which became extinct 350 million years ago. Our Dynamic Earth is another attraction, it is a tent like structure which takes visitors on a fantastic journey of discovery thru history of planets; you can even experience volcanoes, earthquakes, glaciers, rainforest and oceans. Edinburgh is a heritage center for Scotch Whiskey. The Edinburgh zoo is a promising place and kids enjoy watching the Penguins, Asiatic Lions and the other exciting animals. The weather is beautiful in summer and there are flowers everywhere around. The winters are cold and frigid but it is still green and beautiful! Edinburgh, the capital city of Scotland, is located on the south east coast. It is a one hour drive from Glascow, the largest city in Scotland. The Edinburgh Castle, located in the City Centre is built on a now extinct volcano. The castle dominates the skyline of the city, and is a spectacular sight to behold. Some of the favorite tourist attractions are Holyrood Palace, the Royal Mile, Princes Street, and the Royal Yacht Britannia. The very popular Edinburgh Festival takes place during the month of August, and actually is a variety of festivals including the International Festival, the Fringe Festival, the Book Festival and the Jazz Festival, plus a host of others. Always something to do in Edinburgh! The winter months host the Christmas Festival, and in the spring you can visit the Ceilidh Culture Festival, the Film and the Science Festivals. There are so many historic sights and places to see in Edinburgh that you will hardly find the time to visit all of them. This is really my element. I love to travel and Scotland is one of the nicest places I have ever been. If you want to discuss plush with excellent people, Scotland is that. The city of Edinburgh is one of those elegant cities with excellent bed and breakfast accommodations and pubs like you would not believe. It rests in Northern Scotland and if you are into the touristy thing it is happening there. They have magical castles and festivals that will make you want to come back and visit year after year. There is Mary Kings ghost festival happening every year like clock work. There is the Scotch distillery which if you are like me and a touch of Scotch makes you bubble, you will find yourself in a small piece of heaven. The adventure can be a time travel. There is everything from the medieval sites to the majestic and modern. There is a sense of history that just pushes up from the place like a warm sauna. The greatest thing about the city of Edinburgh is the people. They are warm and engaging. The will tell you exactly what makes their special part of Scotland tick and they will have little problem sharing it with you. It is not stuffy or overbearing. It is one of those places I suggest you put on your list if you ever do Europe. If I told you it was all good you would think I was trying to sell the place. I am trying to sell it. Still, there was one thing I could not get to when I was there. It was blood pudding. Besides that, I highly recommend you give Edinburgh a shot.
